Sound Byte Saturday! Starting January 27th.

Has your week been good, bad or the ugly? Do you have a theme song that runs through your head in times of happiness or frustration? Are you bored on Saturdays?

I have just thing to cure those Saturday blues. Don't worry, for the most part all this little meme requires is copying a html code and pasting it into your post.

For Sound Byte Saturday you can post a video or audio clip on your blog to best sum up your mood for the past week as a Sound Byte Of The Week, or just for Saturday as a Saturday Sound Byte.

Basically, post anything that has sound like video, music, or even your own homemade sound bytes. If you want, you can explain your choice of Sound Byte, or not... and let us figure it out for ourselves. :O)

Also, if you really want to use something but can't figure out how to get it on your blog, link to it! We all know how to clink a link. :O) No biggie. If you need help, email me... just click on my head in the sidebar to get to my profile.

Obviously (at least to me), no porn. If you are posting something that has cursing my only request is that you type in *explicit* next to your name in the Mr. Linky I will be enclosing with every Saturday's post. ALSO, be sure to come back here and check out the other participants listed in the Linky! :O)

Here are some possible sources for material:

Yourself, of course! Post your own home videos and audio recordings. :O) I found a free site for hosting content that seems pretty easy to use, it's called Stickam.

....There are a lot more, I just Googled "funny videos".

For music/music video codes:

One thing that annoys me is auto play on websites and blogs. What I mean is when you enter a site and automatically music blares through your speakers, making you spill your Diet Pepsi all over yourself. If you want to let music and video automatically play while playing Sound Byte Saturday, that's ok... it's just that as this post gets pushed down on your site by newer posts...still whenever someone opens your blog/site, it will start automatically.

When you go to most of those site above, and after choosing what content you want, they will give a code to copy and paste into your post.

SO, to help you change the auto play to manual I will show you what tiny bit of code you need to change. Right now I am going to use the Best Audio Codes site. I clicked on audio codes at the top, then used the search bar to find an artist. I then picked a song and clicked on it. Next you'll see a window with a preview, click "generate code". A pop up will open, I unchecked the box next to the "show video".

Copy the code from the box, then paste it into your blog post.

Find this

and change it to this...That's it, auto play is now off.

Save your post...
And this is what it should look like. Click Play. :O)

Thanks for posting these tips. I will join in tomorrow for Sound Byte Saturday.

I've just finished reading Parts One through Four of your story. All very interesting and well written. I can't wait to read Part Five now, to hear the happy ending!

Great tips! I really don't care for not getting a choice to hear or not hear things. Not that I work on the 'puter with the sound on (it's always muted unless I want to hear) but autoplay also slows down loading the sites sometimes.

I didn't see this until this morning sadly. And I don't get it, I've had my butt planted here for days (it seems). Anyhoo, if I can rustle something up today I will, otherwise I'll hit ya next week? :)
