My Life

... Just flashed before my eyes! In typical Mert-Yes, I am clutz (and dork)- fashion, I was coming downstairs just a minute ago and my left foot got caught in the right leg of sweat pants, causing me to thud and bang down the stairs. Luckily I broke my fall with my left middle finger and right ankle and the closet door in front of me.

Did I mention I'm a dork?

My aunt sent this to me today. I'm trying to eat more healthy and feed my family right, so this is food for thought. Scroll down past the image to read more.

"Yesterday I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. My blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high, I'd gained some weight, and I didn't feel so hot.
My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would solve my physical problems. He said just think in colors; Fill your plate with bright colors; greens, yellows, reds, etc.
I went right home and ate an entire bowl of M&M's and sure enough, I felt better immediately. I never knew eating right could be so easy."

I think considering my first aid kit, this is pretty appropriate. ;)

And to round the day off, let's throw in an Anna-ism, shall we? This morning we were arguing whether or not her choice of belt was 'en vogue", which now I realize is just silly. I mean seriously. Dork much? Anywhoo, Anna was mad at me because of this and the fact that I yanked a couple of knots while combing her hair. When her dad came back in from running out to buy milk she said this to him.

"It's all your for marrying HER." She just doesn't know how many times I have said this to the MISU.

Manic Monday- Kit

This Manic Monday is brought to you by the wonderful Mo at It's A Blog Eat Blog World, and the word kit.

Wow.
This one is a toughie. I wanted to come up with something original, but couldn't think of anything. I could have written about my kitten, and the fact that she was bugging me while I was in my kitchen all Saturday making homemade cinnamon rolls. I took over a pan (from the first batch) to my neighbor and ended up talking for 2 hours... meanwhile the second batch sat rising, and rising and rising. I almost had a kittastrophy on my hands.

I also thought about model and embroidery kits, but I haven't done either of those in a long time.

Then I started to think about first aid/emergency kits... and this would be mine:

I think it has everything you would need in case of an emergency. The chocolate give a person energy to go find help, extra napkins could be used as bandages, and ice cold Starbucks could be used on burns. Oh, and the wrappers could be used to treat a sucking chest wound. wink

This is so embarrassing.

Please scroll down for Wordless Wednesday.

Ummm, I don't know quite how to put this... it's so humiliating. There is something seriously wrong with me. It makes me feel like less of a woman. *sniff*

I know that my husband reads my blog, but here it goes.

I have lost my desire, the desire for...

Chocolate.

I know, I know! I should seek help immediately! I don't know if it's because of recent illnesses like colds and a sinus infection I am getting over, I don't understand it! Actually, my desire for Chocolate has been on the gradual decline. My husband experienced a lack of desire for sweets starting about 5 years ago, so technically I am 2 years late.

Is this common? Has anyone else noticed the loss of attraction to Chocolate as they have gotten older? Weird. I feel so empty, yet relieved. *snort* It's bizarre, I haven't really bought any Chocolate in about 2 months- except for some Butter Fingers I bought to keep my salty pop corn company when we saw 300 a few weeks ago.

I have never really been big on candy and dessert unless it contained some form of chocolate... so this could be a good thing. I have a chance to actually lose some weight now.

Is my love affair with Chocolate finally over? Maybe I need to go see a therapist, I wonder if Dr. Ruth is available?

Dr. Baby Ruth, that is. ;)

BTW, is anyone else having problems with their yahoo email account? My is going ape-poop right now. :(

Speaking of Valentine's Day... I signed up For Local Girl's Valentine's Day Swap. By doing this I have met 2 more wonderful people, Marina and Mari!

I just received my goodies from Marina today. :D
First , let me say that Marina gets an A+ for presentation... She took extra time to make this for me.

And another A+ for content:

I got 2 Valentine's candles (I looove candles!), a really cute coffee mug with chocolates in it (I can't wait to use the mug for my daily cuppa joe)... And last but not least, she gave me not only my favorite kind of chocolate- dark, but my absolute favorite kind of dark chocolate, Ghirardelli's!

For years, I worked at San Leandro Hospital in California right smack dab next to the Ghirardelli's factory. Every day I was tormented with this sumptuous smell, which most of my coworkers hated. Not me, I was in heaven! Whenever we had the chance to go to San Francisco, I always loaded up because you could always find more of a variety... where else but Ghirardelli Square.

Thanks Marina, you did good! Heck, you did more than good, thank you so much... you couldn't have picked better goodies. Tonight I am going to kick back and enjoy some of that beautiful chocolate, and some fond memories of living so close to SF. :D
