Pocorn and a movie... FOR A YEAR!

Oh yeah, you heard me right! Elizabeth at Table For Five was offered an opportunity to host a giveaway on her blog... A years supply of Orville Redenbacher’s Natural Popcorn and a years subscription for Netflix!

Recently we had to cut back a little and unfortunately Netflix was the first thing to go, so when I saw Elizabeth's blog post I immediately began to drool over the prospect. ;) My daughters are voracious popcorn eaters so I know they would be just as excited as I am.

Elizabeth only has a few guidelines, so it's as simple as writing a blog post just like this before January 5th, AND she changed the rules a little so that you can enter each of your blogs if you have more than one.

What are you waiting for? Hurry on over and write that post :D

*sigh*

Anna was sick last week with a stomach flu that kept her out of school for 3 days... she felt better Friday evening.

Then promptly cam down with another cold/virus Saturday morning, and was coughing so hard that she threw up a few times. Monday, she felt icky so stayed home a 4th day.

Emma got sick Sunday night.

If you have yard apes, grand-ankle biters or work around the wee folk all day long I am sure you can imagine... all the stuff! (typed with nondescript exhaustion... well, because i am exhausted, so exhausted, i refuse to capitalize :P )

Yesterday, it was encroaching on lunchtime and I got the shakes. I realized that though the tissue terrorizing, prolific booger producing rain forest destroyers that I love so dearly were properly fed clothed and medicated, I had neglected to feed myself.

I heated up the leftovers from Sunday breakfast, and being a little short on money, I decided that all leftovers would be eaten with appreciation. I attempted to heat up my eggs and hash browns.

"Mommy i want up."

Mommy has to have breakfast.

"mommy, I need this."

Not right now, i need to eat.

"mommy, I want that."

I am hungry....

"mommy, i have a booger."

Mommy's have to eat too, ya know....

"Mommy, can i? Mommy give me, mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy I want, Mommy I need..."

Can i please eat my....

"UP mommy... I want mommy..."

"PLEASE, CAN I EAT MY MUSHY, REHEATED HASH BROWNS AND RUBBERY EGGS IN PEACE? I'M STARVING! I just want to eat, give me 10 minutes, for Pete's sake. God!...............help me."

*crickets*

20 seconds go by, and my 2 year old's eyes get a fraction larger.

"Up?"

I bury by head in my hands and stare at the less than appealing clumps of slightly greenish hued scrambled 'used to be eggs'. Blah. I eat but do not enjoy my left overs and wash it down with my barely room temperature coffee. I pretend that the leftover bacon is crunchy, and that it is crunchy enough to drown out the munchkin that continues to blatantly disregard my growled requests to be left alone to consume my lackluster fare.

Then I remember, as I manage to gulp down my practically tasteless coffee, that just 8 years ago we were about to end our 11 years of infertility with the biggest surprise and blessing ever.

It's all worth it, and though i would change a few minor details (as in the frequency of illness, and the rate at which they destroy paper products), I wouldn't trade my booger covered boogers for anything.

The End.wink

I wrote this post as an entry in the Mommy Tantrum contest... do you have a great mommy Tantrum story? Head on over to Bottles, Barbies and Boys and enter your story!

I won!

I have been wanting to get my girls this DVD since they already have all of the other Barbie movies... but since I entered a blog contest at Pajama Mommy to win it, I thought I would hold off on buying it until I found out if I won or not. Yehooo... I think I am on a streak :D I better play the lottery!

Weeehooo!

I won, I won !*does the ridiculous shake-the-booty while churning- the -butter dance*
My quest for an iPod finally paid off, due to the regularly irregular pimpage of the ASP homestead. Mr. Fabulous had a contest going a while ago for an Ipod Shuffle, an *cough* iPod accessory *cough*, or a Barnes and Nobel gift certificate. In return, all he wanted was a little pimping, link love and possibly a vote.

Why pimp myself? My daughter wants a MP3 player but I refuse to buy her one. Everyone has their price as they say and evidently mine is anything with an "i" in front of it. ;) Seriously though Anna has been wanting a MP3 player, and though I hate to sully an iPod with only Disney tween music (Hannah Montana, High School Musical 1 &2, Aly and AJ...), a mommy's gotta do what a mommy's gotta do.

This solves our MP3 player dilemma because we don't want to necessarily buy her something that costs 79$, but on the other hand you get what you pay for right? I have seen quite a few cheaper brands in the 30$ range, but most of them get bad reviews. The other thing is that we ave to consider how much to pay vs how responsible an almost 7 yr old can be.

My only hope is that the truly fab Mr. Fabulous doesn't change his mind about giving me my prize once he reads this.eek

Dude, where's my Nano?

Jason over at Success For Your Blog is having a a contest to give away an iPod Nano. When I found his page I was interested right away, his latest article is titled Make over $20,000 a month on your blog, how could I not be interested? After reading only a few minutes I knew that his blog could be a wealth of knowledge on how to run a successful blog and tips on making money.

I didn't start this blog to make money, I really enjoy writing about the daily doses of daughter drama... but it doesn't hurt to make a buck or two in the process. I'm sure I'll be able to find something to perk up the old blog. ;)

One of the requirements of the contest is to share some blog pimpage and a little linky love, so I think I will link to 2 really nice and COOL people I have just met in the blogosphere.

Elizabeth at Table for Five

Shelley at Design By S.L.S.

I realllly want this I've got fingers, toes and eyes crossed... wish me luck!

Who couldn't use a little sparkle, right?

One of my all-time favorite bloggers has a new review site called An Island Review, in which she reports and links to contests, give aways and freebies. I think this is an excellent idea... Local Girl is providing a service to all of us bloggers who can't resist those sort of things :D

Local Girl is having a drawing for these:

My first reaction was "Oooh La La!", my second was to drool, and my 3rd? I entered the drawing of course!

Quoted from An Island Review-
How to Enter:
  1. Mention this contest on your blog with a link back to this post.
  2. Leave a comment below as to why you think you should win the bling.
  3. A random winner will be selected on July 14th and contacted via email.

Then I commented:
Hmmm, why do I deserve these? As a mom of 2 beautiful and spirited girls whom I love very much and can't imagine my life without- I need down time. My down time usually consists reading, blogging, crafting or sewing while listening to my iPod.

I think every mom needs a little down time, a little "mom time" to recharge their batteries, and I think listening to your favorite music while kicking your heels up - even if it's only for 15 minutes- could be just the thing.

Plus, these headphones are just deliciously pink and sparkley! Mom time with sparkles? Even better.
So, if you are feelin' lucky and would like these sweet little jewel encrusted headphones, head over to An Island Review and tell Local Girl why you deserve these... then just write a post about it!

We have a winner!

***scroll down for my most recent post***

Wolfbaby is the winner of a 10$ Starbucks gift card for guessing correctly the 2 things I changed on my header since putting up this theme.

Here is the original:

Wolfbaby asked: "the light and butterfly to the left is new?"

The sun is setting in the new version, and the butterfly on the left moved up a bit. :D

Congratulations Wolfbaby... I hope you have a Starbucks nearby. If not, I'll get you something else. ;)
