Arrrrgh, fire bad!
I just wanted to make a short post saying thanks to you all for your positive thoughts and prayers! Aside from the anesthesiologist trying to force me against me will to have general instead of local... it went just fine. Thank goodness the OR nurse stood her ground and plainly said "The patient requested local with sedation" each time that idiot tried to say I was getting put under. I do feel a bit like Frankenstein (or Frahnkensteen ala Young Frankenstein) with stitches in 3 places, though.
The Darvocet is good, but I am such a light weight I am only taking a half of pill, well except for last night. My arm was hurting pretty bad last night, it made my teeth chatter.
My MIL made us meatloaf and eggnog cake after she worked, all we had to do was bake the potatoes. YUM! Even though I do complain about her (most of the time for very good reasons), she is very sweet to us when we are sick or under the weather. She must love us or something. :O)
Ok, it's turning in to a not so short post... Thanks again for thinking of me!
Night-night,
Mary
PS- I am proud of myself for making it a whole 36 hours before posting, heehee. I kind of cheated though, earlier I showed the hubby 2 posts on other blogs that I thought were really funny/good, mousing all the while like I was born a lefty. Does that count?

Glad everything went well...Rest up...
Glad to hear that everything went well. Boy, you are addicted to blogging, huh?
Phew, pleased to hear everyhting came out ok. Seems strange that he would have pushed a general when a local would work, given the increased risk associated with a general.
Thanks Bond, LG, and WT!
LG, I think I might have a small problem. LOL!
WT, here in the states, anesthesiologist make big bucks, especially for general anesthesia, less for local and sedation. I am not trying to sound racist, but this Doc was from another country and it's not the first we have encountered at this hospital that is apparently in it for the money. Too sad. I would have put up a fight and a stink, and would have refused the procedure... or at least until I saw my surgeon and straightened it out.
Again, I am so thankful that the OR nurse stood up for me. This hospital often sends surveys out, if I get one I am going to make sure I let them know what an asshat this guy was. Not only did he make me mad about the type of anesthesia I was supposed to get, but he was very rude when he gave me the sedation, and was rude when he saw me before the procedure. Whats the point of asking someone 20 questions if you are just going to cut them off and move on to the next question without listening to the previous answer? BAH.
Mary, Thank goodness all went well and you had an advocate right with you. I'm sending you get well, enjoy the drugs, vibes! Hope you are up and posting as soon as you can handle it.
Glad everything turned out great. (besides post-op pain, but that should be gone soon, right?)
Now stop that blogging - get some rest.
Years ago, my mom had foot surgery. When she got home (still a little loopy from the surgery meds), she started making phone calls. I was 18. I should have stopped her, but I let her. It was funny.
Yum...darvocet!
